Mama said there would be days like this...

While I felt very prepared to start a fresh week of school, Ivan apparently did not. It started with, " I no wear Queen backpack." and "I no wear shoes". I did finally manage to get him into the car (forgetting Connor's all about me poster in the process). We took the back route to the school and so I got screaming and crying because I didn't turn where he thought I was supposed too. We pull up to the school and, "no this not my school. This door is locked. I no go in." So I got to carry my 30+ pound child into his classroom. Where he refused to look at anyone, talk to anyone, put his folder away, or hang his back pack up. I finally just had to leave. I left my child on the floor of his classroom, fists in tight balls, not looking at anyone. The fetal position. Whenever something doesn't go his way, that is what he does. It leaves my stomach in knots...and my heart in pieces.

So sad. I hope it goes better for the rest of the week. I hope he ends up loving it. Good luck.
