While I love my CTMH site, I am exploring the idea of starting...yet another blog ( I plan to get rid of my weight loss one since that has been put on the back burner) devoted to scrapbooking.My layouts, contests, journaling ideas and all that fun stuff. That way it isn't always on this blog. I will keep you posted on that also!)

journaling

I always tell people that the most important part of a scrapbook page is the journaling. It is important to know the history behind that picture you are scrapping. Someday your child's child will want to know the story behind the pictures.

Harmony is really getting into scrapbooking. It may have something to do with my new scraproom...But I of course encourage her, on one condition. Every page has to have some journaling on it. I am so mean huh?

So as I was cleaning up her work, I found a cute page. The journaling says, " I am a camper girl. I am an Earth saver girl.The name that mixes these two is Nature Girl. I love the earth and it's elements. I follow the 3 r's (reduce, reuse,recycle). Fire, water, ice and earth. I am Harmony and that is what I am trying to bring to the world."

need help/advice

So...I am going out of my box completely, and starting in May, I will be teaching a basic scrapbooking class on base. I am totally excited but nervous. I am trying to think of a project for the class to do ( it is once a week for like a month and a half) so I am thinking of an album, where we work on one page a week. Here is where I need help...if you are not a scrapbooker ( or even if you are!) what kind of project would you want to work on? A baby book? An all about me book? A vacation album? Or would you rather just learn techniques, so that you can put together your own? If you don't scrapbook, what is holding you back? I want to be able to help and teach so anything that you guys can help me out with would be soooo very appreciated.Thanks everyone!

insecurities

Tonight I will be teaching my very first scrapbooking 101 class. I am not sure how many people are attending, so I don't know how many I will be teaching. But, even though I have been excited about this...I feel nervous. I really do love scrapbooking. I didn't start selling CTMH to make money (Ben's dreams of me being his Sugar Mama are slowly dying...) it was just so I could teach people. And now that it comes down to it...I am scared of rejection. What if people look at my pages and say, " yikes she is not very good at this so why would I want her to teach me?" I know that I am the only one on this planet with a fear of rejection but...I just don't want to be the reason why people don't scrapbook. Maybe I am just reading way too much into this....

One more quick thing, if you check out my ctmh website and look under My Art, you can see some of the layouts I have made.I plan on adding a ton more...once I get them done! :)

After months of thought, I decided to become a consultant for Close to My Heart. This was a very hard decision for me because at one point I sold Tupperware and can't honestly say I enjoyed it.I liked the product but was definatley not passionate about it.

The very first time that I saw a CTMH catalog, I was instantly in love! I knew that if I could sell anything, it would be these products. At first I was only interested in getting the discount. But as I heard more and more people tell me, " I can't scrapbook because...." Honestly all I heard was "blah blah blah"! :) Everyone has a story to be told. Everyone. Even if you don't have kids. Even if you don't think you have time. Even if you don't think you are creative. If you aren't going to tell your story who is?

So , I will get off my soapbox for now! I just wanted to let people know that I am doing this. I would love to teach people how to scrapbook. If you are local, I would love to do a home gathering for you. Or if that is not your thing, you can order directly from my website. If you are not local, I would love to have you order. Scrapbooking supplies make wonderful gifts! I have put my website on my sidebar, but it is also right here...
