Memories

Memories

My friend Beth had this on her blog and I liked it, so I stole it!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

So leave your memories people!

He He Nathan....I wonder what ever happened to that guy!

Remember that trip we took as part of Connections? And we stayed in a hotel in Utah with a big bathtub? You, me, Lisa and Afton all sat in the bathtub together. (With swimsuits on, of course!) And we played the Skittle game in the van. That was so fun!!

A memory about my sister... of course I have a lot but I think that the memory that sticks out the most is you and mom being with me in the delivery room and you touching Vale's unwashed-newborn hair. Of course, also of you almost buring down your room that same night with the load of dirty clothes next to the heater!!

Most of my memories of Marie involve her talking a mile a minute . . . the best memory is when I walked in the door to her Ricks College apartment and got her in trouble and a boy ban for all of her roommates for HAVING A BOY IN HER APARTMENT IN BROAD DAYLIGHT (but nonvisiting hours)! I think Ben should be greatful I did that to keep the boys away . . .

My memories are mostly of girls camp and how much fun we had. But really I member the day I bumped into you at a store. I have no idea which one. It was in the dalles so there weren't many options and you told me that you were going to marry Ben. I remember thinking, "Ben Turner the guy I had play group with when I was four and ate jello jiglers with?" I love when two of my friends end up so happy especially when they end up happy together.

The first time you came over to my house because you were coming to a card class, but you came the wrong night but we ended up talking forever! I remember the mosquitos biting us and everything and we just swatted at them and kept on talking....the beginning of lots of good times! =)

Always smiling and laughing about your kids! That is what I remember about you. You were always happy and you always looked like you were enjoying your kids and loved being a mom. I wish I had got to know you better. People pass through Virginia too quick! At least we have our blogs.....

Hi Marie,
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to answer this.
One of my most tender and cherished memories of you is one which you would have no way of knowing about. You were about two months old, and you were recovering from spinal meningitis. The worst was over, but you were a sight. You were very pale, and your beautiful dark hair had been shaven in patches here and there, and you were skin and bones. The doctors wanted to test your hearing, but there was no good testing apparatus for a six week old baby. So, the therapist just put you inside his pair of the big old-fashioned headset and turned on the music. It wasn't scientific, but he felt it would at least tell what you could hear. You cooed and talked and gurgled when you heard the music. It was a very tender moment because it was an affirmation that you were okay--our Wonder Woman. Love, Mom
